Perfect rural retreat well equipped and clean

On arrival we were welcomed by Jan and Jayne who proved friendly and informative throughout. We stayed for almost two weeks and never tired of it’s quiet, private location providing shelter from any wind. Internally we found the casita to exceed our expectations and lack for nothing and it was a joy to wake up to the view through the arch window to Arrieta and the coast. We walked to Arrieta during the daytime and evening – a torch was provided in the casita – 15 to 30 minutes depending on direction and amount of food/drink consumed. Approach from the road is via a maintained hard core track which is suitable for motor vehicles however due to heavy rain in the weeks before we arrived I found it prudent to carry my road bike to the casita – by the way it’s a great location for cycling with some moderately challenging climbs nearby which didn’t prevent me covering Orzola and Yaiza in one return ride. A vast selection of books, DVDs, CDs, WiFi and TV, including BBC/ITV and Sky provided home entertainment after an evening meal at home or at the Arepera bar in Mala (be prepared to share the plates are LARGE). We have scores of experiences in rental properties and found no faults with this providing a most relaxing and homely stay.
